Code of Conduct
All attendees, speakers, entertainers, sponsors and volunteers at our events are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout events. We expect cooperation from all participants to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.
The Quick Version
We are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, and religion (or lack thereof). We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Unwelcome physical contact, sexualized language, or inappropriate imagery is not appropriate for any event venue - including talks, workshops, parties, and any event online media. Event participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event without a refund at the discretion of the organizers.
The Less Quick Version
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, sustained disruption of talks or other events, unwelcome/non-consensual physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the current or future events with no refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of event staff immediately. Event staff can be identified as they'll be introduced repeatedly and wearing staff name badges.
We expect participants to follow these rules at event venues, online events, and event-related social events.
Intellectual Property of the Conference Content presented
While we are thrilled by, and encourage, sharing with others photos and descriptions about your experience at the Rainbow Readers Cruise, the Rainbow Readers Cruise is a paid conference event created for those who have signed up. The panel and entertainment content offered is not free content meant to be distributed to those who were not in attendance. Our authors, narrators, and presenters are sharing their information and knowledge and expertise - which has taken years of practice, effort, and application to gather and perfect - with the attendees of the conference. While photos are encouraged and welcome (with consent of those being photographed), videos and audio recordings sharing this information in video/audio format beyond the participants of the Rainbow Readers Cruise is not appropriate.
Other than as expressly authorized by the participants and organizers, no content from the Rainbow Readers Cruise may be reproduced in any form or incorporated into any information retrieval system, electronic or mechanical, including as social media content or as a video “recap” of the experience shared with those not in attendance. You may not use, copy, emulate, clone, rent, lease, sell, reverse engineer, or transfer the content from the Rainbow Readers Cruise or any portion thereof. Attending the Rainbow Readers Cruise serves as confirmation that you are in agreement with these terms and conditions.
